This episode is exactly as it sounds, and it is worth 15 or so minutes of your time!
*There will be an underlying message throughout each step: Servanthood and Humility
1. Learn the work
“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”
John F. Kennedy

- Extra-curricular studies
- Self- teach
- Apprenticeship or internship
- Asking for help
2. Do the work
“Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration. Impact involves getting results, influence is about spreading the passion you have for your work, and you have to inspire team-mates and customers.”
Robin S. Sharma (author of the Leader who had no title and The Monk who sold his Ferrari)
- Be the first one in and the last one out – when it counts
- Nothing is too small for you right now
- Quality over quantity
Step 2 will allow you to gain 2 key leadership characteristics:
- Confidence – not pride, but self-assurance
- Competence – the ability to do something successfully or efficiently
3. Teach what you know
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Good leadership is about educating and empowering others to be as effective as you are.
Step 3 will allow you to show people your confidence and competence.
- Master time management
- Ask good questions
- Be patient
- Show appreciation
“People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”
